ECITB Employer Course Approval Scheme

Employers can apply to the ECITB for ECITB approval of training courses designed by them for delivery to their own staff. The process and criteria have been designed by the ECITB as guidelines of good practice for employers in designing, developing, operating and evaluating training courses.

Approval may be considered for short courses or longer term development courses (such as graduate training schemes) which raise the skills and competency levels in the Engineering Construction Industry.  Approval can only be given to courses for individuals employed by, or contracted to, the employer.

Approval by the ECITB confirms that, based on the information assessed, the approved course has been designed and developed, and is being delivered and evaluated according to systematic training principles.

For training courses that have been approved, the ECITB will:

  • List the course on the ECITB website
  • Permit the use of the ECITB ‘Approved’ Logo (according to ECITB style guidelines) on training course documentation.
