Skills and Technical

Technical Training

Increasing industry skills and knowledge

With an anticipated 42,000 more workers required by the industry in the next ten years, the ECITB is working to attract skilled workers, to replace retirees and meet expansion demands.

It is expected that the majority of these recruits will come from

 • apprenticeships

 • allied sectors and

 • professional engineers and other graduates.

In addition the ECITB is committed to building new channels of recruitment such as ex service personnel, young offenders and the unemployed, giving them access to accredited training and good career prospects.

Flexible Training

ECITB Technical Training provides a flexible way to learn. Employees can learn and develop their skills leading to professional qualifications while they are working. This means they are expertly taught the latest techniques and can put their new skills to practical use straight away, with immediate benefit to the company.

Employers using an ECITB Approved Training Provider and an ECITB Approved Course can be confident that their staff are on a quality assured and audited course, developed specifically with the needs of the engineering construction industry in mind.
